Christmas Party at the People Can Fly family

The year is coming to an end. Soon, we’ll be home after 12 months of battling game code. Our victory in battle doesn’t mean the war has ended, but we deserve this moment’s rest.

All three studios – in Warsaw, Rzeszów and Newcastle, met with their respective team members for our Christmas party, to eat, drink and celebrate. We are like a band of brothers, soldiers on the battlefield; a team working to achieve the same goal. Our Christmas party was an evening of unfettered madness.

No Christmas trees suffered in the process but a few baubles broke, that’s for sure. It’s this quality time spent together that transcends into the quality of games we make, which gives us the desire to continue doing what we’re doing. That’s our jam: always loud, often crazy, but above all – in tune. Arm in arm, we’ll continue to fight until the very end.

We’re a studio that embodies the spirit of punk – and we’re on the map of the games industry like never before. We’re not a corporation; we’re all family and friends.

See for yourself how our Christmas party went and we hope that for our next Christmas Party we’ll be able to gather our huge team in one place.

ROCK ON!

Take a flight with our team – People Can Fly at Gamedev & Creative Careers Expo 2018

In the three years since we left Epic Games, our team has quadrupled in size. We’ve hired 160 people, but we’re always looking for talented specialists from the games industry. Creating a new AAA quality IP is a significant challenge, and there’s no such thing as having too many experienced developers in the studio which is why we’re always scouting for new talent.

With this in mind, we decided to exhibit at the first-ever Gamedev & Creative Careers Expo, which took place on November 17th at the Warsaw Film School. Considering that our main office is also located in Warsaw, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to attend this event.
As soon as the fair opened its doors at 8:00 AM, the People Can Fly team was ready on the booth to guide visitors through our game dev world. We did our best to make sure that potential candidates could talk to team members from different fields about their work in the studio as well as hear more about their personal experiences of working in different positions.

It was a great opportunity for our Level Design Leads, Design Lead and UI/UX Lead to talk to booth visitors about their daily work. The HR team also answered questions on what it’s like to work at People Can Fly. In the afternoon we took part in the “Why not to join us?” discussion panel during which we spoke about what our office looks like, which values we cherish the most and how we have fun after working hours. There was a fantastic reception, and the room was filled to the brim.

Our team worked tirelessly during the whole event meaning that we finished the event feeling tired but extremely satisfied! Overall, around 2000 people passed through this year’s Gamedev & Creative Careers Expo, and we left with a thick pile of CV’s as well as a load of portfolios that were left on our stand.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year, hopefully with new members of the team who we found at this year’s event.

In the meantime, take a look at the photos from this year’s event!
