Senior Character Artist

People Can Fly is looking for a Senior Character Artist. This person will be responsible for creating a top quality models for use in gameplay, cinematics, and even our marketing material.

 

This person will be responsible for:

Creating high quality characters, creatures and weapons suitable technically and artistically

Tuning (or creating) surface shaders for in-game characters

Working with Animators to ensure the character can be rigged and animated properly

 

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in developing character models and textures as a Senior Character Artist

Shipped game title experience (credits in at least 1 AAA titles as a Character Artist)

Ability to create believable characters that are full of life and personality.

Ability to create highpoly and lowpoly models as well as textures.

Ability to adapt to, and innovate, new styles and techniques

Strong organic modeling skills (human faces, clothing, believable creatures.)

Strong hard-surface modeling skills (armor, weapons)

Very good knowledge of major 3D software packages (Maya, Max, or Modo, and ZBrush, marvelous Designer, Substance Painter.)

High work ethic and self-motivated

Passion for Games

 

Language

English and/or Polish language skills (everyone in our studio speaks English, but Polish language skills are a plus)

Technical Animator

We  looking for a Technical Animator focusing on rigging characters.

 

Responsibilities:

Characters, Creatures and Props Rigging and Skinning

Implementing characters in Unreal Engine 4 including Cloth, Physics and Blueprints setups

Work closely with modelers and animators to ensure a smooth development pipeline that delivers high quality assets

Assisting with pipeline tools and working with engine and project leads on continuous improvement of those engine tools

Ability to provide clean assets or code within established systems and requirements

 

Qualifications:

Experience with Maya, specialising in rigging/skinning.

Ability to create tools and write scripts to help improve the animation pipeline

AAA Game industry experience with shipped title/s

Good understanding of anatomy and character movement.

Character Skinning with close attention to physical deformation

Physics simulation on cloth, hair and other physics items.

Excellent English Communication Skills with the ability to clearly provide technical feedback into the tasks, rigs, toolsets and documentation

Knowledge of current technology and trends in video games

Team Player

 

Preference to applicants with

Knowledge of facial rigs for games, television or film

Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 art production pipelines

Python Scripting Experience

Modeling and Animation Experience
