We are back!

Today, just a moment ago, we announced that the People Can Fly team returns to its original name, memorable logo and roots as an independent studio. We – as the People Can Fly team – are excited about the new possibilities ahead of us as we work on a new game as well as continue to partner with Epic and Chair.

So what happened? It was a long process that started just after we launched our last game – Gears of War: Judgment. Since then we have been engaged in multiple game and engine related projects. We’ve worked on Fortnite, UT and Infinity Blade III, sample games and GDC Kite Demo, and many, many more. And we had a good time! Working with talented people at Epic and Chair, working on brand new UE4 and seeing how this amazing technology has been developing and reaching its maturity, creating tons of stuff for games and engine is awesome but we felt we needed and wanted more.

The desire to create our own game, to dive into the game development process that starts in your head, through concepts and design ideas, realized in prototypes and finally in the game, to inspire each other every minute, to create and iterate, was stronger than all the benefits of being a part of Epic group. We are lucky that Tim Sweeney as well as Epic’s board and its executive team members are fair and honest people and allowed us to reach for our dreams. Moreover, in parallel to working on our new game, we continue to partner with Epic and use UE4 so we couldn’t be happier! For those who may have forgotten about us – we were the team behind Painkiller, Gears of War and Bulletstorm. Our DNA is AAA shooters and we’ve just started a journey to bring you our new game. So please stay tuned!
